Rideshare2Vote is now offering free rides to the polls for Akron voters.
The organization said it wants to increase voter turnout in an off-presidential year primary, which will take place May 3. Now, with a split primary due to redistricting delays, voter turnout is expected to be even lower than usual.
Early voting is already underway at the Summit County Board of Elections Early Voting Center, 500 Grant St., Akron.
Interested voters can schedule their free ride at https://booking.rides2vote.com or by calling 888-977-2250.
Volunteer opportunities are also available for drivers at rideshare2vote.com.
The city wants to hear from residents about improvements coming soon to Lock 3 Park in downtown Akron.
An open house is scheduled for 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday, May 3 at the Knight Stage at the Akron Civic Theatre, 182 S. Main St.
Akronites are encouraged to attend the event to share ideas that help shape the Lock 3 Vision Plan. Those who can’t attend the event can fill out an online survey.
